The Nutcracker was founded in 2014 with its flagship cafe in Kala Ghoda, a precious corner of Mumbai known for its rich heritage and to be its art precinct. Working patiently towards its creation we watched with excitement our vision translate into actual brick and mortar.... this was the start of our food journey!READ MORE
“Every once in a while, I look back to see where and how my journey started; flashes of childhood years spent with family and friends huddling over tables of home cooked delicious meals, running to the kitchen to help mom prep dinner, carrying in little bags of snacks to the theatre with an excitement around the food more than the movie, bus rides to markets with my grandad ending in a falooda treat, looking wide eyed at food markets in and outside India, taking in the flavours of food as we travelled that were so unique and different from what we ate back at home. I could go on endlessly about the influences that all felt so normal in those years but were silently stacking up and eventually contributed to bringing me here.
After two jumps in my career, I took a leap of faith, followed my heart and landed in a space I felt was truly my calling, a space I could feel a sense of flow more than ever before.
For me, The Nutcracker is truly personal... it’s my endeavour to bring years of memories and emotions into a space and allow people to feel what food really is; an emotion, a memory, a comfort, a happiness, a never ending experience that grows with you.
Honesty, freshness and comfort are the driving forces in what we deliver at The Nutcracker and I sincerely hope you can share this joyful experience in your time with us.”
One of the nicest things about life is the way we must
regularly stop whatever it is that we are doing and devote
our attention to eating.
